LAFW – I Am Tai Collins

26 Dec

Sylvia G Photography - Tai Collins
This past LA Fashion Week, I had the opportunity to work with designer Tai Collins of Blackbuttafli once again.
It was great to be able to work with some familiar faces as well as meeting a whole new slew of models. Tai put together a variety of different lines for her solo show and I was totally in love with her swim line. We had some time to shoot some more promotional type material with the models and we did what we do best in LA – use the alleys!

The fashion show was a blast! Great job to everyone involved: Tai’s family for helping with all the details, the makeup and hair artists, and the models. Although shows never go without glitches, everyone pulled together to put on a great show for the audience.

From Paris with Love – Blackbuttafli Fashion Show

18 Apr

Had a great time shooting a fashion show for Blackbuttafli last month. Four talented designers came together to pull of this show – great job to Tai Collins (Blackbuttafli), Kat Damiani, James Poole, and Sassi Rebel. Also great job to the models – you were all great to work with!

Here are some of my fav looks from the night:

East Coast Travels

21 Nov

I haven’t updated in SO long.. mostly because I’ve spent a ton of time the past month traveling. 3 different time zones in 1 week? That’s pretty insane.

While I had hoped to be able to keep up with my blog while traveling, it just got really hard to work that much and blog and stay healthy. So basically I ended up working hard but not blogging and getting really sick. ): But I’m feeling better and hoping to catch up on my backlogged blog posts.

First stop on the East Coast was Rutgers in New Jersey.

We spent most of our time eating at places that were on Man VS Food  (the Grease Trucks for some crazy sandwiches and Stuff Yer Face for some ‘boli’s). Really fatty but super worth it.

Instant Noodles Crew had performed at Rutgers for a TASA show. It was a fun show and the crowd was great. (:

After a couple of days around Rutgers, we continued on to adventure into the great city that is NYC. It was Arthur’s first time in the city and I haven’t been in a while so it was really fun even though we didn’t get to spend all that much time there.

I got to skate in Rockefeller Center! Now I can check that off my bucket list. (: Thanks guys for skating with me, even if you didn’t want to at first.

We went back to New Jersey but stayed in the sleepy country town of Lebanon. We actually ended up getting snowed in which was great considering Chris and Charles have never seen snow before. We were totally unprepared to be playing in the snow but it ended up being one of my favorite days of the trip. All we did was eat, play in the snow, eat some more, and sing karaoke. Amazing.

Early the next morning we set off to Boston for a couple of days to do workshops at Boston University for Bulletproof and a CSA show/Q&A panel at Boston College.

This trip was exhausting but was such a great experience.
Thank you to the Instant Noodles fambam for making this trip so memorable and fun. And thank you to those who brought us out there and took care of us. Special thanks/shoutouts to Julia, Eric, Ben & Krystal (FoundAsians), Nick & Liz for housing and taking care of us.
I can’t wait for more trips like this!

If you want to see more photos of the trip, there are 2 albums on Instant Noodle Crew’s facebook (here and here).

“Red Alert” MV Wrap

29 Oct

After a year of hard work from an amazing crew, Arshad’s “Red Alert” music video has been completed!
It was great getting to have dinner with the cast and crew that I have worked with and become friends with. Everyone spent so much time and energy on this project so it was great to come together to see the final product. We got a screening of the (almost) final copy and I can’t wait to it to be released to the public.

Tribute. El Nat Open House

26 Sep

Hit up the opening of Tribute. El Nat in Santa Monica with Grasie last week (thanks, Grasie!).

It’s such a cute store! I love how it’s decorated and the I couldn’t stop looking at the clothes. While the store is smaller, there is a HUGE selection still. Lot’s of unique pieces as well as basics. If you’re in the area I recommend that you check it out!

Fashion’s Night Out LA

12 Sep

Attended Fashion’s Night Out with Grasie last week. While I was jealous seeing all the tweets from FNO NY, FNO in LA was definitely  not bad. Mostly stayed in Hollywood (Fred Segal, American Rag, & What Goes Around Comes Around) and had to turn in early so I didn’t get to go to Vivienne Westwood and the Beverly Center like I had wanted to. There is always next year. I can’t wait for the time when I can be in NYC for FNO!
