Style Me Grasie – December

3 Jan

My shoots last month with Grasie from Style Me Grasie could be best described in one word: festive.

The holiday season hit us hard and she was going to holiday parties left and right – which meant tons of cute party outfits! She was finally able to incorporate more layers and hats in her casual looks since it was colder last month as well. While the new year is starting off a bit warm, I’m hoping it stays cool since I love winter layers!

Style Me Grasie – November

3 Dec

LA weather has been really fickle. We keep going in and out of heat waves with rain in between them. While Grasie still needs to throw in some looks in shorts & dresses, the rainy & cold days in between have allowed her to get some great sweaters and fall looks in there. These are the outfit posts we shot for November. (:

East Coast Travels

21 Nov

I haven’t updated in SO long.. mostly because I’ve spent a ton of time the past month traveling. 3 different time zones in 1 week? That’s pretty insane.

While I had hoped to be able to keep up with my blog while traveling, it just got really hard to work that much and blog and stay healthy. So basically I ended up working hard but not blogging and getting really sick. ): But I’m feeling better and hoping to catch up on my backlogged blog posts.

First stop on the East Coast was Rutgers in New Jersey.

We spent most of our time eating at places that were on Man VS Food  (the Grease Trucks for some crazy sandwiches and Stuff Yer Face for some ‘boli’s). Really fatty but super worth it.

Instant Noodles Crew had performed at Rutgers for a TASA show. It was a fun show and the crowd was great. (:

After a couple of days around Rutgers, we continued on to adventure into the great city that is NYC. It was Arthur’s first time in the city and I haven’t been in a while so it was really fun even though we didn’t get to spend all that much time there.

I got to skate in Rockefeller Center! Now I can check that off my bucket list. (: Thanks guys for skating with me, even if you didn’t want to at first.

We went back to New Jersey but stayed in the sleepy country town of Lebanon. We actually ended up getting snowed in which was great considering Chris and Charles have never seen snow before. We were totally unprepared to be playing in the snow but it ended up being one of my favorite days of the trip. All we did was eat, play in the snow, eat some more, and sing karaoke. Amazing.

Early the next morning we set off to Boston for a couple of days to do workshops at Boston University for Bulletproof and a CSA show/Q&A panel at Boston College.

This trip was exhausting but was such a great experience.
Thank you to the Instant Noodles fambam for making this trip so memorable and fun. And thank you to those who brought us out there and took care of us. Special thanks/shoutouts to Julia, Eric, Ben & Krystal (FoundAsians), Nick & Liz for housing and taking care of us.
I can’t wait for more trips like this!

If you want to see more photos of the trip, there are 2 albums on Instant Noodle Crew’s facebook (here and here).

My lovely friend Jungle just moved back from Korea after living abroad for 2 years. What better way to re-adjust to Southern California than an adventure!

While I have explored the abandoned zoo (Old LA Zoo) once before, it’s always a different experience when you go a second time and your company is different (especially if they have never been before!).

Sylvia G Photography - JungleFirst stop was to eat some cupcakes at Big Man Bakes in Downtown.

There are some hidden gems in the city of Los Angeles. People get sick of the city so fast but if you look hard enough, there are definitely some fun spots like this. Here’s to more adventuring!

Worked with such a talented team on this shoot. We started off just going for a grungy look, which turned into “Japanese bum” (yeah, we’re not quite sure what it means either). The story just ended up working itself out in the end.

More photos on facebook.

Everyone really worked so hard and pushed their boundaries for this shoot. I love seeing test shoots as a way for everyone to do something new a daring that they don’t always get to do on other shoots (especially paid gigs) so it was awesome seeing everyone really grab onto that and run with it.
