Last weekend Rob and I went up to San Francisco to visit our friends, Shea and Frances. They recently got engaged (congrats!) so they asked me to take their engagement photos. I was so excited because it would be my first time shooting in the snow, plus it’s always extra fun shooting friends.
We actually did 3 different locations: the Marina Green in SF, the Palace of Fine Arts in SF, and Donner Lake (close to Tahoe).
We shoot at the Marina Green on Thursday the 17th. It’s actually the location where they first met, as well as where Shea proposed to Frances! It’s such a cute place. There’s a big green grassy area (where they have kite festivals) and you can see the Golden Gate Bridge!
We weren’t originally going to shoot at Donner Lake but Shea stumbled upon the webcam at the lake online before we left and it looked like there was fluffy snow along a secluded lake. Well, turns out there was LOTS of fluffy white snow. Probably a foot or two deep in some parts. Thank goodness for Rob’s snowboots making nice trails for the rest of us. Definitely not what we expected, but it was such a fun experience.
And, of course, Frances couldn’t help but attack Shea with snowballs throughout the shoot.. Poor Shea. haha
